Located 9 km from the old town centre, Marinella is the Municipality of Sarzana’s beach resort. Unlike the rocky coastline found on much of the Ligurian Riviera, it has a low, sandy shore. In the 1960s, tourism started booming in Marinella as hotels, restaurants and beach establishments were built. As well as the beach, people go to Marinella to spend time in an agricultural area spanning several hundred hectares known as the Tenuta, where they can walk around and enjoy the natural surroundings, with unparalleled views of the sea and the mountains.
